Priscilla Londoño your Miss Houston USA 2021 is currently employed as a Marketing Director for several well known businesses in the Houston area and in the process of creating her own swimsuit line titled EllaMar Swimwear coming Summer of 2022. She is no stranger to the pageant world and has competed for the Miss USA system in the state of Texas starting in 2011 as a teen and going onto Miss in the year of 2019. She loves the spotlight as she is a former Houston Texans Cheerleader and has continued a modeling career with Neal Hamil agency. Priscilla is passionate and focuses on promoting women empowerment and cultural appreciation in her community where she will go on to compete as Miss Houston at the Miss Texas USA 2021 competition.
What is and how did you decide on your profession?
I am a marketing director for several businesses in the Houston area as well as a full-time contracted model. I began my modeling career at the age of eight years old. My passion for fashion and being such a natural in front of the camera helped guide me into the industry; additionally, I was adamant on anything that brought me extra income so I took on a position as a marketing director because of my creativity and knowledge when it comes to social media marketing and website design. My ability to network is truly the foundation of
my entire craft.
Has there ever been a time where you felt you didn’t belong in your profession?
Throughout my modeling career I was constantly told that I was not tall enough or did not meet the required measurements. My dream was to be a runway model so when I was told that I would only fit the commercial print model standards it made me feel defeated.Paying for my own schooling is extremely tough and has held me back in someways. The super majority of employers, unfortunately, assume that a bachelor’s degree comes in hand with resume. I was tested on many tangents on my ability to excel in my position as a marketing director.
Has there been a time in your life that you felt you were unworthy?
Fortunately, for me, I am fully confident that I am worthy of any and everything. The most important qualities a person can poses are persistence and confidence, when you have those two on your side your opportunities are endless.
What are some ways you have overcome adversity?
I began working at the age of 15 and learned how to be financially independent at such young age. It has it pros and cons, and at age 27 I’m just now learning how to find the silver lining in this specific adversity. I overcame this because I am a workaholic and honestly, I did not have a choice. By doing so I have learned to all important skill of providing for not only myself but my family.
When did you learn the importance of self love?
I’ve realized the value of self love when I realized my self worth which then translated into more success. Growing up my mother always taught me how important daily affirmations and taking care of your body is and that continues to prove itself true in my adult life.
How do you promote self love in others?
By setting the best personal example; I only hope that others mutually benefit from my examples of the topic at hand. Remind others just how valuable they are in this world and that we all have a purpose.
What does the Glam By Sam motto
(“Find your glamour within”) mean to you?
One will not find true glamour until they realize how imperative being kind to yourself and others really is. In order to find your outer “glamour” one must be fully aware of themselves within: emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. Put yourself in uncomfortable situations!
How do you continue to find your glamour within on a daily basis?
I make sure that I am aware and empathetic to all. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors so always be kind and never assume. Assuming is the lowest form of knowledge.
