Crunchy leaves, a cool breeze, and the smell of warm apple pie in the air. That's right folk, FALL IS HERE! If you can't tell by my all caps and exclamation point, I am very excited. I wait nine months out of the year to whip out the boots and pecan waffle candles and only have two months of pure pumpkin pie eating joy. Because of this eagerness and season lovin state of mind, I have a few to die for fall favorites that I wanted to share with you!
SEASONAL MENUS & SCENTS
Let’s start with the basics, by basics I mean the reality that PSL season is upon us and Starbucks has officially announced their seasonal drink menu. Although I am not a fan of pumpkin spice and everything nice, I do have my seasonal Starbucks favorite! To kick off the start of Fall, I asked my IG audience to send me their seasonal Starbucks drink order and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of answers I received. Some love a simple chai tea latte with a dash of pumpkin and others are FALL FANATICS that go all pumpkin spice frappuccino with almond milk crazy. My order you ask, cinnamon dolce latte with soy milk. I know what you’re thinking… cinnamon? YES. I am obsessed. Pair it with a warm Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and you are golden. I promise you’ll thank me later.
Starbucks is not the only corporation that capitalizes on the seasons changing, yes I am thinking what you’re thinking… FALL SCENTED CANDLES! Nothing beats coming in from the chilly outdoors to a house that smells like a warm apple pie is baking to a crisp in the oven and Bath & Body Works is fully aware of this obsession. This is the time of year that Bath & Body Works announces their annual fall sale to commemorate the seasonal change and I am here for it. If anyone is wondering what my bedroom smells like then now is the moment you find out. I have been IN LOVE with the White Pumpkin three-wick candle and wall plugin. Sweet, yet not I got a cavity from walking into your room sweet. However, this was not an easy decision. Some other candles that are to die for are Autumn Woods by Bath and Bodyworks and if you’re more of a wax warmer gal, the ScentSationals Warm Apple Pie from Target is exquisite.
NURTURE YOUR MIND
Now that we’ve talked about all things warm drinks and scent happiness, let’s talk about fueling your mind. Cozying up with a nice book and warm blanket sounds like the perfect Saturday morning. (With my bath & body works candle burning of course) Being a firm believer in spending time with your thoughts, I find myself turning off the rest of the world and cuddling up with a good book. My current go-to is “The House of God” by Samuel Shem. If you are in the medical field or simply want to read the perspective of someone who is, I 10/10 recommend. If you’re not interested, some other all-time favs are “Girl Wash Your Face” By Rachel Hollis which is the perfect inspirational + life-changing mix that will leave you reaching for the stars, or “Incomparable” By Nikki and Brie Bella which is on a whole other level of motivational and eye-opening.
BEAUTY & FASHION
Beauty and Fashion have to be some of my favorite aspects of Fall. Why you ask. I’m a sucker for a dark bold lip and some thigh-high boots. Something about the cool weather and the way a scarf wraps an outfit together so beautifully that gets me. If you follow me on social media, this obsession is not new information to you nor is my infatuation with a bold lip. My all-time favorite is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Deep Burgundy Matte Lipstick but a current favorite is the Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Head Over Heels”. However, don’t feel that you need to get a name brand to achieve the perfect bold autumn look. Revlon has an incredible matte liquid lip with a variety of bold and beautiful shades.
Up next, sweat pants. I am a firm believer in work hard and rest harder. Investing in a cute pair of sweat pants or sweatsuit is vital for the full fall experience. Pair with a tank and a cute flannel or dress up with a crop top and bootie, sweat pants are an all-around the perfect piece. My two favorite pairs are the Ash Grey Casual Jogger and Maroon Ultimate Sweat Jogger, both from Pretty Little Thing (Pst if you go now, you can get them for up to 70% off the original price. What a steal.) Nothing beats being able to lounge and look fashionable at the same time, am I right?
Let’s talk, Fall Fashion… In particular, BOOTS. Ugh, I am a sucker for a boot. Whether it's Uggs or Chinese Laundry, there's something so slick and fashionable about a boot. My laced up Beige Chinese Laundry’s have made an appearance or two on my social media but can you blame me? They are stunning. If you’re looking for a black thigh boot, my recommendation is the Aldo Black Suede Thigh High Boots. You can pull them up to be thigh highs or fold down to be knee-highs. WISH LIST
Last but most certainly not least, my wish list. We all have one and lately, I have had my eyes on these beauties in specific.
First, we have The Classic Check Cashmere Scarf in Archive Beige from Burberry. Picture this, oversized beige coat with a Burberry scarf peaking through the top. Classic.
Now picture a black coat with a black lieutenant hat (picture Blaire Waldorf) and a red lip. This may be more of a winter look but hey, let me live!
To round out the wish list we have the Gucci Black Supreme Tights. As many of you may know, I am not afraid of wearing a cute dress with a patterned tight underneath and these Gucci tights are the perfect combination of sleek and classy but will do their required job. 10/10 WANT & NEED.
