Crystle Stewart

Miss Texas USA 2008, Miss USA 2008, and Miss Universe 2008 Top 10 are among a few of the titles Crystle Stewart holds. She is also a Wife, Mother, CEO, Entrepreneur, Actress, Model, and my personal favorite, Friend. Other than being pageant royalty, Crystle spends her days running her business, The Miss Academy in Houston, TX. MISS Academy is a pageant training school that offers training to females in make-up and hair lessons, runway workshops, classes in etiquette, posture, poise, and more! Crystle is also the director of the Miss Houston Texas USA pageant where she has had multiple placements at state and even a winner! (Miss Houston Texas Teen USA- Kennedy Edwards who became Miss Texas Teen USA 2019) I have built a relationship and friendship with Crystle that although originally began because of pageantry, continues because of our unbreakable bond and uncanny similarities in our beliefs and personality. Crystle is a blessing to so many and I am lucky enough to call her my friend.

How did you decide on your profession?

As a young woman I always had a vision of what my calling was in life and it is to help young women to become productive, successful beautiful women from the inside out. I never lost sight of that vision. It has been the guiding and inspiring force of who I have become and what I want to accomplish.

What is your favorite part of your profession?

My favorite part of my profession is communicating, teaching, guiding and fellowshipping with the young ladies and their families.

It gives me great joy to see the daily growth of the ladies as they learn the different skills, challenges and strategies to enable them to live life skillfully.

When did you learn the importance of self love?

I learned the importance of self love as a child growing up in a nurturing environment. An environment that provided wholesome experiences and opportunities that allowed me to discover who I am.

It is through those experiences I discovered the beauty within me and the value that beauty had in learning to love myself.

If you could share one message to females everywhere about self love, what would it be?

One message that I would like to share with young women is the fact that loving yourself is an amazing feeling. Self love will have a positive effect in every part of your life.

Learn to embrace it.

Has there ever been a moment in your life where you felt unworthy, what was it?

The times in my life that I have felt unworthy is when blessings and rewards have come to me unexpectedly. At that time I feel humble and undeserving of the wonderful things that have come upon me.

How do you encourage and promote self love to other?

My message to other woman regarding self love is to practice positive self talk. Positive self talk is the internal voice that encourages us, comforts us when feeling down and pushes us to keep going. Positive self talk must be constantly rehearsed. It is easier to love yourself when you have a grateful and kind heart. It humbles you and opens the door for love to enter. Learn to forgive yourself, let go of the past .

Stop being so critical of yourself. It doesn’t change anything. Praise yourself, support yourself and take care of your needs.

What does the Glam By Sam motto (“find your glamour within”) mean to you?

Find your glamour from within” to me means to discover the beauty you have within you. Define your core values , your fundamental beliefs that guide your behavior. Let those values define who you are and what you stand for.

How do you find your glamour within on a daily basis?

To find glamour within yourself daily you must commit to this journey of loving yourself. Make loving yourself, self love, a priority. Do not let anything get in the way of your relationship with yourself. Use the power you have within you to grow and create change.

I have stood on three powerful words for the last 15 plus years....

Patience, persistence and perseverance.

Finally my friends, remember

“The race is not given to the swift but those who persevere until the end.”

These are amazing words to live by, thank you Crystle for sharing your message of finding your glamour within and being true to who you are.

XOXO,

Sam💋
