Allie Gonzalez is a commonly used name in the pageant world. Not only does she represent complete and utter class and sheer determination but she is true to who she is both on and off the pageant stage. She has reminded all of her fans that dreams do come true and you can reach the stars you have been striving for. She graced the Miss USA 2019 stage as Miss New Mexico and walked away as First-Runner Up, an achievement we all knew she was more than capable and destined for. Watching Allie lay her heart out on the Miss USA stage was nothing short of inspirational and proved that hard work does pay off. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Allie on a personal level and still tend to fan girl over her. Allie has worked many years at goals and is the first person to remind you to never give up.

How did you decide on your profession?
I grew up playing Monopoly with my family. It allowed me to learn about strategy, investments, and margin of scale. I always knew I wanted to do something in business as my profession. I have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and am using my business background to open up my dog boarding and grooming business.
What is your favorite part of your profession?
I have always enjoyed meeting business owners in different industries. The accounting profession allows me to be knowledgeable about all the sectors that make up our economy.
When did you learn about the importance of self love?
Self-love is the importance of being able to accept yourself despite the standards that society sets. I dealt with my share of body shaming in high school for being too skinny. It was not until I got to college and started competing in pageants, that I was able to accept the person that I am.
The growth done throughout these years allowed me to highlight my strengths and weaknesses.
It allowed me to appreciate myself based on my own merits and self-worth and not the opinions of others.
If you could tell your younger self one thing about self love, what would it be?
Dr. Seuss can always teach us something. “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
How do you encourage and promote self love to other?
Encouraging self-love is allowing others to see themselves. I promote it by reminding others about the value they possess and remaining true to myself.
What does the Glam By Sam motto (“find your glamour within”) mean to you?
It means being able to find your traits that push you to YOUR success. Success is different for everyone and in every situation!
How do you find your glamour within on a daily basis?
Especially now, it can be tough to stay positive with everything going on in the world.
I have found my glamour by making sure to stay productive.
I try to make a checklist of everything that I need and want to do for the following day and get a lot of satisfaction being able to check them off!
I live by my quote of
“never give up!”
It’s a quote that I made up joking with my brother when I was showing him the projection of my CPA exam scores. Since then, it has paralleled my journey to Miss USA, and now into my business venture!
